Renewal Wedding Vows Ceremony Has Everyone In Thrall

There are few occasions that spark so much emotion and passion as the renewal wedding vows ceremony. It has the entire family and close circle of friends in thrall, not to mention the couple for whom the moment is much more than symbolic. It is a reiteration of their love and belonging, a moment to remember and cherish.

No wonder that most couples go the extra mile to celebrate the vows renewal ceremony.
They are not deterred by the fact that the vows renewal ceremony has no religious value; they are also not concerned by the fact that the ceremony has no sanctity in the eyes of the law.

What they want is to savor the moment. It is an opportunity for them to recommit themselves before their family and friends. More than that, it is an occasion for them to reflect on what has gone wrong in the past, and vow to correct those mistakes in the years to come.

Interestingly, there is no embarrassment as the couples re-enact their wedding ceremony. Some even go to the extent of inviting their Best Man and the Maid of Honor to grace the occasion. Some return to the same church and seek out the same priest who married them.

There are some who want to renew the vows in completely different settings, settings that reflect their current status in life. Such vow renewals are marked by considerable pomp and show. However, there are many others who want a much quieter affair, who only want their immediate family members and friends to be present.

The scale of the ceremonies may be different; but the underlying emotions are the same. More so, it is an occasion to reflect – be it at the time of writing the invitation, be it at the time of deciding the bridal dress, be it at the time of deciding the attendants or be it at the time of choosing the vows.

The fact that each couple can make their own rules adds to the occasion. They are not bowed down by tradition, but can hold their hands, look into each other’s eyes and reaffirm their love for each other in the way they want.
